Ohrid trout (Salmo letnica)

Fish of the Salmo genus of the Salmoninae subfamily of the Salmonidae family of the Salmoniformes order of the Protacanthopterygii superorder.

Ohrid trout (Salmo letnica) was first described in 1924 by the Macedonian biologist Stanko L. Karaman (1889 – 1959). The recorded maximum length is 76 cm. The maximum weight is 6.5 kilograms. It feeds on zooplankton and fishes.

It’s endemic of the eastern part of Lake Ohrid (Albania, Macedonia). It enters the tributaries of the lake.
