Fish of the Gadella genus of the Moridae (codlings, or hakelings, or moras) family of the Gadiformes order of the Paracanthopterygii superorder.

Gadella (Gadella maraldi) was first described in 1810 by the French naturalist Antoine Risso (1777-1845).
It inhabits the depths of 150-748 meters. It swims near the hard bottom. The maximum recorded length is 30 cm.
There are single occurrences in the southern part of the Adriatic Sea. It is a poorly studied species.
