Fish of the Microlipophrys genus of the Blenniidae (combtooth blennies) family of the Blenniiformes (blenny) order of the Ovalentaria clade of the Acanthopterygii superorder.

Adriatic blenny (Microlipophrys adriaticus) was first described in 1868 by the Austrian zoologist Franz Steindachner (1834-1919) and the Croatian ichthyologist Juraj Kolombatović (1843-1908).
It inhabits at depths of up to 5 meters. It occurs in the tidal zone, hiding in crevices and hollows of rocks. The maximum recorded length is 5 cm. It feeds on small invertebrates and algae.

It is a permanent inhabitant of the Adriatic Sea. It is more common in the southern part of the sea.
