Zeta trout (Salmo taleri) was first described in 1933 by the Macedonian biologist Stanko L. Karaman (1889 – 1959). The recorded maximum length is 30 cm. It feeds mainly on invertebrates and insects.
It’s a rare inhabitant of the upper reaches of the Zeta, the Morača and their tributaries (Montenegro).
