Pouting (Trisopterus luscus)

Fish of the Trisopterus genus of the Gadidae (сods, or true cods) family of the Gadiformes order of the Paracanthopterygii superorder.

Pouting (Trisopterus luscus) was first described in 1758 by the Swedish naturalist Karl Linnaeus (1707-1778).

It inhabits the depths of 30-100 meters. The maximum recorded length is 46 cm; specimens 30 cm long are more common. It feeds on bottom crustaceans, small-sized fish and mollusks. It is a schooling fish.

Allegedly, in the Adriatic Sea, this fish occurred near the border with the Ionian Sea.
