Fish of the Deltentosteus genus of the Gobiinae (true gobies) subfamily of the Gobiidae family of the Gobiiformes order of the Percomorpha clade of the Acanthopterygii superorder.

Toothed goby (Deltentosteus collonianus) was first described in 1820 by the French naturalist Antoine Risso (1777-1845).

It inhabits depths of up to 120 meters. It occurs mostly off the coast among algal beds. The maximum recorded length is 7 cm. It feeds on zooplankton.

It is a permanent inhabitant of the Adriatic Sea.
