Fish of the Gobius genus of the Gobiinae (true gobies) subfamily of the Gobiidae family of the Gobiiformes order of the Percomorpha clade of the Acanthopterygii superorder.

Gobius kolombatovici was first described in 2000 by the Croatian zoologist and marine biologist Marcelo Kovačić.
It inhabits the depth of 15-90 meters. It occurs near a sandy and silty bottom with stones. The maximum recorded length is 9.2 cm. It feeds on zooplankton.

It is a rare species. It is an endemic of the northern part of the Adriatic Sea.
