Fish of the Lepadogaster genus of the Gobiesocinae subfamily of the Gobiesocidae (clingfishes) family of the Gobiesociformes order of the Acanthopterygii superorder.

Connemarra clingfish (Lepadogaster candolii) was first described in 1810 by the French naturalist Antoine Risso (1777-1845).
It inhabits the tidal zone close to the algae. The maximum recorded length is 7.5 cm. It feeds on benthic organisms.

It is a permanent inhabitant of the Adriatic Sea.
